With the arrival of Spring, we're hosting our 3rd SPAC Presents Astronomy Night, with amateur astronomer and Audubon Naturalist, Bob Vickers.
Sunset on May 12th is at 7:52 pm so we will officially start at 8:00 pm. Please arrive at the Visitor's Center at 7:45 pm for check-in, payment and an intro. There will be no moon present which gives the potential for deep sky delights (e.g. galaxies, nebulae). We should see meteors; Venus will be well placed in the early evening, with Jupiter visible later.
Folks are welcome to bring their own binoculars or telescopes as well as blankets, star maps/apps, etc; individuals with scopes should also arrive a little early to get set up. Also, it's good to keep white light to a minimum, so bring red flashlights, to preserve night vision.
