With the weather turning to fall, we're hosting our 2nd SPAC Presents Astronomy Night, with amateur astronomer and Audubon Naturalist, Bob Vickers.
Sunset on the 16th is at 7:05 pm so we will officially start at 7:30 pm. Please arrive at the Visitor's Center at 7:00 pm for check-in, payment and an intro. Saturn will still be high and beautifully visible, with the possibility of seeing Uranus. There will be no moon present which gives the potential for deep sky delights (e.g. galaxies, nebulae).
Folks are welcome to bring their own binoculars or telescopes as well as blankets, star maps/apps, etc; individuals with scopes should also arrive a little early to get set up. Also, it's good to keep white light to a minimum, so bring red flashlights, to preserve night vision.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will reschedule for Saturday, September 23rd.
Register with Mitch at firstname.lastname@example.org or 662-252-1155.
$10 per person/$25 per family.
