B.A.T.S. is a brand new workshop that teaches all about the bats of Mississippi. We'll begin with a 2 hour "classroom" session to learn the basics about Mississippi's bat populations. The evening session will be an exciting field experience in which we will set up mist nets in an attempt to catch bats. Teachers will assist biologists in processing any bats that are caught (identify, weigh, measure, etc.) and then released.
This program is open to teachers of all subjects and grade levels, scout leaders, home school leaders, camp leaders, youth leaders of any kind.
Please note: Participants will NOT be able to handle bats but will assist with nets and in the processing of bats. Prepare for a hands on field experience!
